Numerous professional tournaments and PGA qualifying rounds have been held on the courses in and around Alicante and they are all so close to this Torrevieja Villa.

There are three main courses in the Torrevieja area (see below) but there are many more courses to choose from for those prepared to travel upwards of 30 minutes.

Please bear in mind that you should always book your round well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Villamartin Golf Club

The most famous of the three courses, and the host for the 1994 Med Open - attracting such high profile names as Seve Ballesteros, Ernie Els and Jose Maria Olazabal.

Opened in 1972, this well established course has beautiful scenery, ingenious design and great challenges. This Putman designed course has been the focal point of Mediterranean golf since that time. Sporting tennis courts and a swimming pool, together with a central plaza of shops, restaurants and bars, Villamartin can satisfy the most discerning tastes.

18 hole par 72, 6130m Professional/Men/Ladies tees. Driving range. 10Km on the Cartagena Road, from Torrevieja, turn right opposite sign to La Zenia.

Campoamor Golf Club

This course was opened in 1989 and is designed to appeal to both the professional and the amateur. With its wide fairways the course is actually larger than Villamartin, but consequently easier.

This well maintained course absolutely must be experienced, as golfers play next to epic views of the Mediterranean.

It is the most panoramic of the courses in the region, the expansive fairways, excellent greens and the lakes deceive the player somewhat. Campoamor will soon be challenging as a venue for major championships.

18 hole par 71, course 5830m Professional/Men/Ladies tees. This course is just a bit further up from Villamartin on the Cartagena Road.

Las Ramblas Golf Club

This difficult course, opened in 1991, has far narrower fairways than Campoamor, and presents more of a challenge.

Situated between two ravines on the shore of the Mediterranean - with fairways surrounded by water and picturesque scenery - this course is a feast for the eyes and a test for the skills. This course has an abundance of pine trees, ravines, plateaux interconnected with a natural rolling landscape. This is a course with "attitude".

18 hole par 72, 5770m course Professional/Men/Ladies tees. In between Villamartin and Campoamor. Driving range.
