Where is Torrevieja?

Torrevieja is situated in the south east coast of Spain, next to the crystal clear Mediterranean waters of the Costa Blanca (the "White Coast").
Torrevieja is just a 30 minutes drive south of Alicante's International Airport or a 30 minutes drive north of Murcia International Airport.
Flights from London take about two and a half hours and there are many cheap, budget flights to choose from.

Is Torrevieja a tourist area?

Torrevieja is a developing tourist centre and one of the most important on the Mediterranean coast. However, you will find it is not nearly as commercialised as other areas on the Costa Blanca. It still retains that special "Spanish" feel and has an extremely relaxed environment.

Torrevieja is now one of the most popular places for the Golf enthusiast. Take a walk along the promenade and then rest in one of the many restaurants or bars. As well as some wonderful historical monuments such as the "Modernist Casino" which dates from the beginning of the century and has a famous hall in the mozarabic style; the "Recinto de las Eras de la Sal" an open, air theatre.

Festivals

One of the many attractions to Torrevieja are the variety of festivals which take place every month. Some of the most popular events in Spain are the Carnivals in which thousands of people join in, forming a light show of colour, satire and good humour. The Holy Week attracts lots of people into the streets, converting these into huge paths of colour penance and popular religiosity. Good Friday at night is one of the most venerated and admired festivals on the Spanish eastern coast.

Visit in August and you'll be able to enjoy the weeklong "Habaneras" festival - a major international music competition which attracts a live and television audience of hundreds of thousands of people. Las Habaneras are a celebration of the Latin American music and rhythms brought to Torrevieja in the 19th century through the port's salt-trading links with Cuba.

Beautiful sandy beaches, Europe's biggest salt flats bursting with bird life, historic sites and a huge variety of Spanish and international restaurants...just a very few of the reasons to book a holiday here.

Torrevieja used to be the home port of the largest fleet of sailing boats in the Mediterranean and still boasts one of Spain's best yacht clubs, with berths for 1,500 boats. In fact the town provides first class facilities for lovers of all sports - there are Golf courses, a flying club, a variety of water sports and the municipal stadium with an athletics track, sauna and covered courts for tennis and a variety of other sports. Torrevieja also has a bull ring - still a favoured attraction for the Spanish - a water park, fairground, theatre and several cinemas.
